Welcome to our Pupil Voice Council Page!

What is our Pupil Voice Council all about?

Our Pupil Voice Council consists of 18 children- (3 children from each of the Key Stage 2 classes) who are representatives from each of the three councils: School Council, Eco council and Sports Council.

Our Pupil Voice Council meet in school regularly and are led by Mrs Garrity, Mrs Young and Mrs Belcher.

The Pupil Voice Council have the opportunity to play an active role in making decisions that affect the school. They help to organise, plan and review school events, help to improve parts of the school, organise fundraising events, identify issues and help to resolve them and decide on action points for improvements of our school.

The children develop their leadership skills, confidence, self-esteem and responsibility by being organised, reliable and caring.  Children are given roles and responsibilities within the council and they are responsible for feeding back to Mrs Sykes and the school governors on matters that arise in their meetings and any actions they take.

Meet our Pupil Voice Council 2022-23

This is our whole Pupil Voice Council team- representing each of three different councils.

More about the three different councils who work as one great team!

School Council

The school council is a representation of the views of all pupils within school and they meet to discuss and sort out problems that are identified by the children.

They listen to the ideas of all the children in school and present solutions to problems.

They are responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed such as planning events, fundraising and helping improve parts of the school.

The children work together to:

  • Make our school a safe place to be
  • Organise fun events
  • Raise money for our school funds
  • Decide on action points for improvements
  • Be part of our community

Sports Council

Our schools Sports Council work very hard to promote PE and sporting opportunities in our school.

They run playground activities for the children in Key Stage 2 during lunchtimes and most of the children compete in various sporting competitions that represent our school, such as Football, Dodgeball, Netball, Rounders and Swimming to name just a few.

They have some exciting things planned this year: Intra school events, Sport Relief, Race for Life, Sports Day and a whole school football tournament are just some of the things planned already.

They are dedicated to boosting and promoting sport in our school. They help to prepare for upcoming events, support each other and discuss and provide sporting opportunities for the whole school.

Eco Council

The eco-council is responsible for keeping the school eco-friendly.

They meet to discuss activities and events which could take place to improve the schools environment, raise money for school funds and charities.

They feedback to the rest of the school about what they are working on.

We want our school to be a ‘green’ environment where we work together to:

  • Reduce, reuse and recycle
  • Encourage wildlife
  • Save energy
  • Care about the world we live in
  • Keep healthy
  • All work together

We monitor our energy use in class and encourage teachers and children to recycle.  We operate a lunchtime rota where our eco warriors check and score all the classrooms and the winner receives a certificate for best Eco class of the week.

We also grow our own produce which we use in our school kitchen.
