Newhey Community Primary School

Welcome to the PTA section of our website. The PTA, founded in 2019 by mums Gill Smith and Gemma Knowles, has quickly grown in strength owing to their passion and enthusiasm for our school. We are a bubbly group of mums (dads always welcome to join!) - who are keen to support our fantastic school.

The main aim of a traditional PTA is to fundraise! We would like to raise money for specific projects or items that the children feel the school would like, rather than need, for which the school just does not have the budget.

That will always be the main focus of our intentions; however, we would like to have some fun along the way! We hope to plan activities that not only the children can be involved in but that also the parents/grandparents/carers can have fun at too.

Our children spend a lot of their lives in school and that means we as parents spend a lot of our time in the playground! We hope to become familiar and approachable faces supporting the staff and pupils at our school.

We are always looking for new members. It’s hard juggling all the balls being a parent and we understand that. You may not be able to give a full commitment or even want to. The meetings might not always fall at a convenient time for you or your families but please don’t let that put you off. If you see an event or an activity that you would be interested in being involved in or feel you can offer us some expertise, you would be welcomed with open arms. Grandparents/aunts/uncles/carers etc also equally welcome.
