Our Aims

At Newhey C P, we aim to increase our pupils’ awareness and knowledge of other cultures and diverse places, develop skills such as using, drawing and interpreting maps and become aware of environmental issues both locally and globally. We hope that we can encourage our pupils to become responsible citizens and commit to sustainable development that will benefit their future world.

The teaching and learning of Geography at Newhey Community Primary aims to inspire pupils with a curiosity, interest and respect for their locality, wider world and its people. We hope to equip pupils with knowledge about places, people, resources and both natural and human environments.

As pupils progress, their growing knowledge and geographical skills should enable them to gain an understanding of physical and human processes and of the formation of landscapes and environments, and how these change over time.
